Vice President of Business Development

Jed Young, with nearly two decades of dedicated service, serves as the Vice President of Business Development at PortCity. His role involves networking within the logistics community, forging enduring relationships with customers, and contributing to the company’s big-picture growth. Jed’s background boasts impressive achievements, including being a Board Member of the Propeller Club and the organizer of Maritime After Hours networking events. He is also an Affiliate Member of IFFCBA (Independent Freight Forwarders & Customs Brokers Association of Savannah) and a past President of the Savannah Traffic Club, where he served on the board for a decade. Jed’s commitment extends beyond the professional realm; he has served as the Past President of Habitat for Humanity and as a member of the Campaign Cabinet for United Way for five years. His passion for community-building is reflected not only in his work but also in his personal life, where he dedicates time to cycling and endurance sports. Jed thrives on spending time with his cycling club members, fostering a community centered around health and fitness. Kristin Jacobs

Director of Customer Success

Kristin Jacobs brings over 21 years of experience in the logistics industry, demonstrating expertise in sales, operations, retention, and development. In her current role, Kristin oversees business development, manages the opportunity pipeline, engages with customers, and ensures the successful onboarding and retention of new and existing business. With a background at Expeditors International, she excelled in various roles, including Customer Retention and Development Manager, Ocean Export Manager, District Sales Executive, and Customs Brokerage Team Lead.

Kristin’s achievements include retaining and developing local accounts, implementing systems to improve customer connectivity, and orchestrating successful transitions for new accounts. She is known for her commitment to customer satisfaction and revenue growth, as well as her ability to create value-added solutions for logistics needs. Kristin values the positive and family-like environment at PortCity, where everyone is welcoming and supportive. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, engaging in outdoor activities, and cooking.

A distinguished USCG veteran and graduate of the University of Mississippi, Wicks’ commitment to excellence extends to his leadership in both professional and community roles. Joey Herb, a member of the PortCity team since July 2021, is a dynamic and competitive professional with extensive experience in sales, including Supply Chain Management and Logistics. His versatile skills encompass direct sales, presentation development, customer service management, and relationship building. With a successful track record as a District Sales Manager at Stryker, and Smith and Nephew, Joey excels in cultivating relationships with decision-makers and surpassing sales expectations.

Outside of his professional life, Joey finds joy in spending time with his Golden Retriever, Marshall, and passionately cheers for UGA. His commitment to continual education and hands-on experience in spinal surgery and sports medicine further enrich his expertise. A graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication and Public Relations, Joey brings a strategic and insightful approach to business development in the field of Freight Management at PortCity.

Director of Business Development

Robert Murrell brings with him a wealth of experience in sales and management within the logistics industry. With a Bachelor of Business Administration from Winston Salem State University and a background that spans various high-level roles at prominent logistics companies, Robert has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive sales growth, exceed targets, and build strong client relationships. His professional journey includes notable positions at GSC Logistics, Open Road Transportation, and R+L Carriers, where he excelled in expanding revenue and managing large sales teams.

Outside of his professional life, Robert is a dedicated family man who cherishes time with his wife and daughter. He is an active member of his church and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and finds joy in playing golf. Will Carter

Customer Account Executive

Will has been a vital part of PortCity’s brokerage team since 2021. During his tenure, he successfully managed 15,000+ loads, ranging from drayage to full truckload shipments. Will’s ability to create and nurture relationships with carriers across multiple regions has been instrumental in driving customer growth. His comprehensive knowledge of port and rail operations nationwide allows him to craft practical, tailored solutions for PortCity’s customers.

Will is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he earned a degree in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Finance. This educational foundation, combined with his hands-on experience in logistics, enables Will to excel in developing strategies that optimize supply chain efficiency for his clients.

David Baranowski

National Sales Director

David Baranowski, the National Sales Director at PortCity, brings a wealth of experience with 30 years in international and domestic shipping, inland trucking, chemical sales and distribution, and 11 years in 3PL logistics. Transitioning from Operations Manager, his role involves leveraging this extensive background to guide the sales team into new markets and industries. David’s commitment to PortCity is rooted in its culture. He values the emphasis on people, growth, and support, making the work environment enjoyable. Outside of work, David prioritizes family, with his two sons both having graduated from UGA and now one serving in the Army and another as a police officer. In their newfound free time, David and his wife focus on simpler pleasures, such as home improvements.
